The Lewiston Middle School String Orchestra, directed by Greg Boardman,presents a program featuring “The Golden Phoenix,” a French-Canadian fairy tale.This story has been adapted and will be performed by storyteller Michael Parent,with musical accompaniment created by the students.The orchestra will also play the Ben E. King classic “Stand By Me,”Telemann’s “Concerto in D Major for Solo Violin and Strings,”and a selection of traditional jigs and reels.This hour-long Family Show will be performed at the Auburn Public Libraryon Saturday, June 1st at 11 a.m., and at the Lewiston Public Libraryon Wednesday, June 5th at 5 p.m.
